Assignment 2
I was told to make something that Represents Myself. Create something that doesn't include any non-digital medium.
The moment I read the assignment brief, there's really nothing more to scream ME than DANCE.
In my head, for this assignment, I've got to make something related to dancing.
This was when I applied ZigZag. I didn't went for the predictable nor the linear. I went all around and back, to finally get an idea!
I decided to make a Dance Headpiece!
Since I have an Indian Dance performance coming up, I thought I would make a headpiece that matches with my Lehenga Choli.
How I Made It
I used a piece of wire as the supporting base to my headpiece. I had to measure and cut it with pliers so that it fits my head. Then I wrapped it with ribbons that colour coordinates with my Indian costume. I also attached strings of shiny beads along with a few gold leaves.
Although my headpiece was simple, I still liked the way it turned out, especially after dropping my beads about three times and having to spend almost 5 hours to secure it back in.
The headpiece definitely wasn't the typical Indian headpieces. I put my own idea and twist to it to make it represent me more.
I took my Headpiece out for a photoshoot in my Lehenga Choli. I certainly enjoyed this assignment and am happy to express what represented me !
